Summary: Major General Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan, gave directives to the Veterinary Medicine Directorate, led by Dr. Medhat Ramzy, to open government slaughterhouses with a total of 8 slaughterhouses at the governorate level to carry out sacrificial animals in them for free throughout the days of Eid Al-Adha.
This is done under veterinary supervision, away from slaughtering in the streets and in front of homes and public places. Immediate fines will be applied if any violations or transgressions by citizens are caught in this regard, with the aim of reducing this phenomenon due to its negative impact on environmental and health damage, as well as to preserve the safety of livestock. Public cleanliness and sewage networks, entrusted with the establishment of a joint committee from the General Administration of Security in the governorate, the local unit, veterinary medicine, health and environment, and the competent authorities for sudden field traffic in the streets to prevent slaughter in them, and to direct them to government slaughterhouses, provided that this is complemented by the establishment of the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine. By supporting slaughterhouses with veterinarian teams to work 24 hours a day to provide full sacrificial slaughter services, as well as the required guidance awareness, the governor directed the necessity of veterinarians being present in every department to conduct an examination of any sacrifice to ensure its safety, as well as intensifying inspection campaigns to destroy any meat, poultry, or anything else. This is not suitable for human consumption to preserve the public health of citizens. For his part, Dr. Medhat Ramzy explained that based on the directives of the Governor of Aswan, all vacations for workers in the directorate have been cancelled, and cleaning and disinfection work for all slaughterhouses is being followed up, with intensification of inspection campaigns on butcher shops, and adherence to all preventive measures. He called for the necessity of citizens to go to either the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Aswan or the veterinary administration to which the slaughterhouse is located, to submit any complaint or inquiry related to the sacrifice in order to quickly deal with it and develop immediate solutions for it. He called on the Director of the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine to have the owner of the sacrifice bring his own butcher or Slaughtering so that he can slaughter his victim after ensuring its safety inside the slaughterhouse affiliated with the veterinary administration in the centers and cities, which includes the Aswan slaughterhouse in the waterfall in the city of Aswan, the slaughterhouse in Nasr City in Nubia, and the Abu Weir slaughterhouse in the Kom Ombo center, in addition to 4 slaughterhouses affiliated with the Edfu Center, which are the Edfu slaughterhouse, And Mhamid, Al-Radisiyah and Al-Hasaya, in addition to the slaughterhouse in the city of Sabaia, the private slaughterhouses in the tourist city of Abu Simbel, in addition to the Abu Simbel government slaughterhouse.
